Two sun sprites, Skok and Kuk, come flying to a clearing to find out what it is so strangely bright on the earth. They meet Lady Bracken and two sturdy stag-beetles, but also a cunning Tiger-beetle who thinks they are looking for a real treasure. So he inveigles them and shuts them in his lair. But the kind-hearted Lady Bracken sends the stag-beetles to save them.
